Okay, technically they don't move. But they certainly look like they might.

Mechanica transforms a beautifully simple white denim shift into a piece of industrial-inspired wearable art. An assortment of gears, cogs and mechanical forms travels asymmetrically around the hem and climbs one side of the dress, creating the impression of a hidden mechanism slowly revealing itself.

Black, metallic silver, antique brass and unexpected touches of colour give the gears dimension without overwhelming the clean white background. Some shimmer. Some sparkle. Some look as though they were liberated from a wonderfully complicated machine.

Running vertically along the opposite side, black and metallic silver ribbon stripes create a strong architectural line from shoulder to hem—a modern counterpoint to the wonderfully chaotic collection of gears.

The result is part steampunk, part contemporary graphic design and entirely unexpected.

Originally a simple white denim dress, Mechanica has been individually reimagined and hand embellished by Ruffles to Rhinestones, turning an everyday garment into something that won't be mistaken for anyone else's.
